Press Release regarding the Use of Deposit Insurance System Funds
In order to clarify the use of funds from deposit insurance system from which the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina paid out all insured deponents of Bobar banka a.d. Bijeljina-under liquidation in the amount of KM 85.2 million for 14,420 clients, we emphasize the following:
Pursuant to the order of priorities according to which the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a priority in the collection of funds, Bobar banka a.d. Bijeljina-under liquidation repaid the amount of KM 50 million to the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The remaining KM 35 million will be repaid in a way that the amount of KM 10 million will be repaid by the end of the current year, while the remainder will be repaid in the next year. It should be noted that Bobar banka a.d. Bijeljina-under liquidation has already reserved KM 20 million for court disputes.
So far, banks headquartered in Republika Srpska have paid the deposit insurance premiums to the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the amount of more that KM 60 million, thus it cannot be said that the use of funds from the deposit insurance system is at the expense of banks from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
