Condition of the Republika Srpska banking system
For the past month, we have witnessed certain disruptions and shocks to the financial sector of both Europe and Republika Srpska. Unfortunately, in the mentioned period, the financial sector of Republika Srpska encountered certain difficulties that were imposed to it due to the events on the geopolitical scene caused by the conflicts between Ukraine and Russia, and economic and financial sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States, the European Union and other countries. These global disruptions have contributed to changes in the way financial organizations operate around the world.
The Banking Agency of Republika Srpska (hereinafter: the Agency), as the regulator of the banking system of Republika Srpska, and one of the key institutions in preserving the stability and security of the financial sector of Republika Srpska as a whole, emphasizes once again that the banking system both in the period prior to emerging crisis, and also in the post-crisis period, was and remains stable, liquid and well-capitalized.
Hereby the Agency once again emphasizes the importance of the banking system of Republika Srpska, and the fact that a stable and strong banking system means a stable and strong Republika Srpska. We would like to send a clear message to all clients and depositors of banks based in Republika Srpska that all banks headquartered in Republika Srpska are liquid, stable and have long-term plans for their further operations and development in Republika Srpska. All these facts were confirmed by the representatives of all banks in their talks conducted with the representatives of the Agency in the previous period.
